Hot on the heels of last year’s most collectively acclaimed album – Renaissance topped a whopping 19 year-end rankings – the appearance was loaded with significance, and the internet was quick to jump on every hand gesture and style choice in a hunt for meaning.

Considering Beyoncé was reportedly paid up to US$24 million for the one-hour performance at the luxury resort, according to multiple reports, she could afford to look like a million bucks on the red carpet. And indeed she did.
