7 of Taylor Swift’s most trusted designers over the years: from her punk rock Louis Vuitton look at the 2016 Met Gala and colourful Versace ensembles to edgy Balmain, also loved by Kim Kardashian

Taylor Swift is the highest-paid female entertainer in the world as she’s the only woman who made it to the Forbes’ top 10 list, earning a whopping US$92 million in 2022, thanks to her highly successful album Midnights.

So, who are her go-to designers?
6 of the most expensive jewellery sets spotted on Taylor Swift
1. Oscar de la Renta

Take for instance her dazzling crystal sheer minidress from the MTV Video Music Awards last year. The head-turning ensemble decorated with silver chains was a bold move for the songstress, who rocked it boldly without skipping a beat. Swift complemented the US$25,000 piece with sparkling Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

A year earlier, she made history as the first female artist ever to win Grammy’s album of the year three times and she did it in an unforgettably charming floral dress. From Oscar de la Renta’s autumn/winter 2021 collection, this tulle dress is appliquéd with about 200 colourful blooms, and was the perfect choice for the floral princess.

For the premier of Cats in 2019, she picked another classy Renta number. She wore a satin gown covered in floral and leaf patterns with the orange-red and black theme from the brand. The gown’s palette was perfect for her character from the film – a ginger catwoman Bombalurina. It cost almost US$18,000, per Insider.

2. Elie Saab

The “Style” singer also favours bold colours and for that, she picks Elie Saab.

The “Red” singer appeared in another Elie Saab number when she was crowned as the “Woman of the Year” at Billboard Music Awards in 2012. She stunned in a red chiffon sleeveless gown with a lace bodice.
A year later, she once again chose a red-wine haute couture gown with sophisticated embroidery to receive the rare Pinnacle Award at the Country Music Awards for artists who take country music to a worldwide audience.
3. Atelier Versace

Later in 2019, she opted for the Italian house again at two events during the same month of August. At the Teen Choice Awards, she combined her rainbow-printed bodysuit with a blazer from Versace’s pre-autumn 2019 Voyage Barocco.
Meanwhile, at the MTV Music Awards, she wore another colourful sparkling blazer from the Italian fashion house, fully encrusted with Swarovski crystals from its Cruise 2020 collection. She mixed it up with a shimmering pink crop top and Christian Louboutin thigh-high boots.

4. Balmain

5. Louis Vuitton

At the 2016 Met Gala, she tried out an unexpected punk rock look with a silver-scaled minidress from the brand, paired with dark lipstick and lace-up shoes.

Then she totally transformed into a classy lady at her All Too Well: The Short Film premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last year, thanks to the custom LV gold sequinned gown, complete with chains along the neckline that cascaded onto her chest and shoulders.
6. Julien Macdonald

Swift also shines with Julien Macdonald’s edgy designs.

7. J. Mendel

Swift also loves looking sweet with J. Mendel’s designs. She wore the fairy tale-like candy pink and yellow silk gown with floral embroidery at the 2019 Time 100 Gala. The billowing sleeves were actually detachable as she removed them later to play the guitar at the event.

The brand has been one of her preferred choices since her early years. She looked like a Greek goddess in a cream and white chiffon gown with thigh-high slit and metallic straps on the neckline at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

- Swift looks great in bold looks by Elie Saab and edgy outfits by Balmain and Julien Macdonald, a brand that’s also adored by celebs like Jennifer Lopez and Gigi Hadid
- Her other fave designers include luxe maisons Atelier Versace and Louis Vuitton but she’s also into J. Mendel’s sweet designs, like the Greek goddess-like gown she wore to the 2013 Grammys
