Fuss-free fashion: Brett Goldstein’s signature black shirt style – the Ted Lasso star ‘doesn’t want to think about clothes’ even when it comes to the red carpet, he shared in a TikTok-viral interview
It’s quick, it’s easy, it’s timeless. Best of all, it doesn’t require any thinking. In a recent interview with Popsugar, the Ted Lasso star said he doesn’t care about fashion. He’s stayed loyal to his black shirts since he was age eight – and being in Hollywood isn’t going to change that, evidently.
Here’s what you need to know about the British actor’s wardrobe staple.
Black shirts only for Brett Goldstein
If you see Goldstein at a red-carpet event, there’s a good chance the Ted Lasso star will be wearing a black shirt.
According to a Popsugar interview with the British actor, which was shared on TikTok on Saturday, the reason is pretty straightforward.

“I got a lot to do and think about. I once learned, probably when I was eight years old, that I looked OK in a black T-shirt,” Goldstein said, adding that he made the decision to always wear one so he never has to think about clothes again and that he doesn’t care about fashion.
Goldstein is now 42.
His viral interview
The interview has more than 713,000 views on TikTok as of Monday.
He has been photographed wearing black shirts at various events through the years, including at the season two premiere of Ted Lasso in 2021, in California. He paired a black T-shirt with a black blazer and matching pants at the event.
