Lady Amelia Spencer’s wedding day tribute to Princess Diana: the late royal’s niece honoured her aunt with a custom Versace dress, one of the People’s Princess’ favourite luxury fashion brands
The Versace wedding dress was a nod to Spencer’s late aunt Princess Diana, according to an exclusive interview with Hello! magazine.
Spencer, 30, wedded her long-term partner, Greg Mallett, 33, on a mountaintop at Quoin Rock Manor House in the Winelands of Western Cape, South Africa, on March 21, the publication reported on Sunday.
Diana’s niece walked down the aisle in a custom gown by Versace, one of the late royal’s favourite designers, according to Hello! The backless, lace gown had long sleeves, floral and sheer detailing on the waist, Swarovski crystals, and a two-and-a-half-metre train.

She completed the look with a five-metre veil made out of fine silk tulle and Jimmy Choo shoes, the publication reports. Photos of the bride’s dress were published in Hello! and in an Instagram post shared on Spencer’s official account.
The bride shared a photo of herself and Mallett, who wore a tuxedo and bow tie, alongside the caption: “Forever, in this life and the next.”
“I think she would be very proud to see me on my wedding day,” Spencer said of her aunt in her interview with Hello! “I know the Versace family also absolutely love Diana, so there’s a very special connection that we have,” she added.
