Ever Gabo Anderson, the 15-year-old daughter of actress Milla Jovovich and British sci-fi film director Paul W.S. Anderson, is already flying high in her career as Wendy in her first major role in Disney+’s Peter Pan & Wendy.

Last week, the teenager brought her own magic to the NYC red carpet premiere of Peter Pan & Wendy in a Miu Miu teal cut-out dress with a puffed-out skirt. She matched her ensemble with a pair of strappy black heels. She also sported loose waves and opted for natural make-up, looking like a dolled-up version of Wendy in real life.

As the budding Gen Z actress steps out from the shadow of her parents, we take a look at Ever beyond the screen and how she’s proving to be much more than just a pretty face.

Ever Gabo Anderson has acting credits as a kid

Even from a young age, Anderson knew she wanted to pursue acting. In a 2016 conversation with Interview magazine, Anderson recalled asking her mum if she could audition for TV when she was five, but her mum said she needed to learn to read first. By the time she turned seven, her reading had improved so she asked her mum again, who this time advised her to take acting classes to see if it was something she truly enjoyed.

Anderson then attended The Playground, a young actors’ acting conservatory in Los Angeles and Orange County.

When Anderson auditioned to play the younger version of her mother’s character Alicia Marcus in 2016’s Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, Jovovich admitted to Entertainment Tonight that she got nervous, fearing that the acting gig might burn her daughter out. But Anderson proved otherwise, showing off her natural acting chops.

Later in 2021, Anderson played the younger version of Natasha Romanoff, Scarlett Johansson’s character in Marvel’s Black Widow.

She got acting tips from her mum

Being the daughter of a famous actress and a director seems to have worked to Anderson’s advantage. Per ET Canada, Anderson revealed she did line readings with her mum when she auditioned for Peter Pan & Wendy.

As per a red carpet clip posted by AP, Anderson says her mum advised her to be inquisitive and passionate, be sensitive around people, and “to not be afraid to look stupid”.

Anderson also dabbles as a Miu Miu brand ambassador, joining the ranks of cool girls Chloë Sevigny, Mia Goth and Léa Seydoux, to name a few. Earlier this year, she was featured in Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2023 campaign.

She’s still a beginner in make-up

Teenagers in London recently got the opportunity to quiz Anderson on her life as a celebrity kid, for a feature on the Evening Standard. One of the questions touched on her beauty routine and how she applies make-up on her own when she’s not on set.

The Hollywood Hills-based talent answered that she loves getting her nails done “but [doesn’t] get them done enough”. She added that she’s not very good with make-up, so she sticks to a highlighter and lipstick. Her favourite lipstick is called Black Honey – the one Molly Ringwald wears in The Breakfast Club.

She’s open on social media

Aside from regularly posting her fashion #OOTDs, beauty looks and photoshoots on Instagram, Anderson shares snippets of her hobbies too.

As seen on her feed, she trains in taekwondo, plays the guitar, and seems to be into art and books. According to her bio, her account is closely monitored by her parents.

The Los Angeles-born youngster is also not afraid to voice her opinion on serious issues as well. In 2022, she attended a rally to protest and condemn the US Supreme Court’s decision overturning abortion rights.
