After a tumultuous split from her partner of 12 years, Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué, last year, Shakira has re-entered the spotlight with a series of new bangers, hot “revenge fashion” looks, and has been out and about mingling with Hollywood’s crème de la crème – from Tom Cruise at the F1 and supermodel Gisele Bündchen to that “secret” boat trip with Lewis Hamilton.

Sure, her and her ex still seem to throw shade at each other through music and Piqué’s posts about his rumoured new girlfriend Chia Martí – but what former flames wouldn’t?

Break-ups can hurt, but one of the few upsides for artists is that they can use them as creative fuel to vent their emotions through their song lyrics.

And it seems Shakira is doing just that. In January, she released a clip on BZRP Music Sessions #53 on YouTube with Argentine DJ Bizarrap. She sang (as translated from the Spanish): “I’m worth two 22-year-olds, you swapped a Ferrari for a Twingo, you swapped a Rolex for a Casio”. Fans quickly concluded this was a dig at her former man’s new fling, who is 24.

The 46-year-old has also released “Monotonia” with Ozuna, “TQG” with Karol G and “Acróstico (solo version)”, containing lyrics that prompted Spanish press to speculate that they’re about the acrimonious split. Hypebae has also reported that a new collab between Shakira and Cardi B might be coming this summer, so keep your eyes peeled for that, too!

Whether or not her new music is about Piqué, Shakira has been landing awards left, right and centre for her talents. Earlier this month, she was honoured with the first Woman of the Year award at Billboard’s inaugural Latin Women in Music gala.

The Colombian singer’s song with Bizarrap made history after it went viral and scored a whopping 14 Guinness World Records, including most-viewed Latin track on YouTube in 24 hours (63 million) and fastest Latin track to reach 100 million views on YouTube.

Shakira has rocked some seriously sweet “revenge” fashion looks since her break-up. Some of her best moments include the Princess Diana-inspired dress at the Cannes Film Festival 2022; the pink power lingerie for her record-breaking hit with Bizarrap; a barely-there nude-toned Burberry one-piece; and a see-through Miu Miu ‘fit in a campaign late last year. We can’t wait to see what she brings next.

The “Waka Waka” singer set the internet alight when she was pictured hanging out with Top Gun superstar Tom Cruise at the Formula One Grand Prix in Miami in early May. It was her first public appearance since moving to the city, according to W Magazine. The pair was seen mingling in the event’s VIP section and immediately attracted romance rumours – but neither of them have commented so far.

Cruise was reportedly supposed to attend King Charles’ coronation that day, but backed out last minute and instead sent the newly crowned King a pre recorded video message from the cockpit of a fighter jet that played during the Coronation Concert.

Her “secret” meet-up with Lewis Hamilton

After hanging with Tom Cruise, Shakira was then seen spending some quality time with British F1 racing car driver Lewis Hamilton on multiple occasions, sparking more romance rumours.

They’ve been seen together several times, from a date at Miami’s Cipriani restaurant after the F1, to a trip to his Florida home and a day spent on a boat together – all within the space of a couple of weeks. Neither have addressed the rumours, but we’re glad they seem to be having fun.

According to a report in People in April, Shakira has moved from Barcelona to Miami with her kids Sasha and Milan. She previously lived in Spain’s Catalonia region for eight years with her ex, Piqué. Before their big move, she was seen with her sons holidaying around the Turks and Caicos Islands, per Marca.

It seems she’s since settled in nicely, as Shakira was spotted hanging out with supermodel Gisele Bündchen about a week ago. The two newly single mums brought their kids out together for a dinner date at Makoto restaurant, according to TMZ. Bündchen filed for divorce from NFL star Tom Brady last October.

The “Queen of Latin Music” seems to be living her best life in Miami, posting videos of her surfing, attending NBA games, and most importantly, cherishing family time with her two kids.
