In a loving tribute, his famous father shared a celebratory post on Instagram stating that his child has been “responsible for some of the highest experiences of [Will’s] life,” and that he “introduced [Will] to the true definition of love”.
“I met God in your eyes,” added the Academy Award-winning actor.

Trey Smith is the son of Will Smith and Sheree Zampino
Trey Smith was born on November 11, 1992, in Los Angeles, California to Will Smith and Sheree Zampino, who were married from 1992 to 1995. His father went on to marry actress and Red Table Talk host Jada Pinkett Smith in 1997, and shares two more children, Willow and Jaden, with his current wife.
He’s close with his family
According to People magazine, Trey has had his ups and down with both of his biological parents over the years, and Smith was largely absent in his early years as he worried about the negative impact of Trey seeing him and Zampino fighting.
It seems that they’ve since mended their relationships for the better.
Trey is also close to Jada Pinkett Smith, Will’s wife, and their two children Willow, 23, and Jaden, 25, as seen in photos on his Instagram.
He has appeared in projects with his dad
Trey makes the occasional cameo in his 55-year-old dad’s projects.
Per People, when he was just five years old, he starred in a music video for “Just the Two of Us” with his dad. The song was a rendition of Bill Withers’ classic hit.
Trey also made an appearance on his dad’s All Of Us TV show with Jaden.
He has an album
Although he hasn’t pursued acting like his dad, he has followed in Smith’s musical footsteps by spending time on his DJ project, AcE. He launched his debut album Best Wishes in 2020. According to his bio, his music has reached a global audience, from California to Dubai, and he “crafts magical beats” for his siblings and singers such as Kelly Rowland.
Per People, he is now releasing music under his own name, including songs “On the Other Side” and “Out Of KNoWWhere”.
