Considering the colossal year of success Taylor Swift has had in 2023, no one was too surprised when it was announced that the pop songstress had been given the prestigious title of Time’s Person of the Year.
In her candid interview with the publication, she opened up about some of her proudest moments to date, and the people who have supported her throughout her rise to stardom – especially her family.
“My dad, my mum, and my brother come up with some of the best ideas in my career,” Swift said as she showed the interviewer around her home.
“I always joke that we’re a small family business.”

Austin Swift grew up in Pennsylvania and Nashville with his family
TayTay and her younger brother Austin grew up on a Christmas tree farm in Reading Pennsylvania, to parents Scott and Andrea Swift, per Today.
According to People, when Austin was about nine years old, the Swift family moved to Nashville to support Taylor’s burgeoning music career – and as we all know, the rest is history.
“She found singing, and I knew from very early on that that was her direction,” Taylor’s supportive brother told Vanity Fair in 2017. “She was never going to quit; that was her thing, that was her life.”
He was a “loner” growing up
In the same interview with Vanity Fair, Austin said that while he was growing up he “didn’t have a lot of friends”. Instead, he found comfort in going to the cinema.
“I would go to the films, and Daniel Craig was my friend, and Christian Bale was my friend, and Clive Owen was my friend, and Viggo Mortensen was my friend,” he said.

The younger Swift sibling went on to become an actor, making his debut in I.T. in 2016, starring alongside James Bond alum Pierce Brosnan.
