Simone Johnson, who goes by the name Ava Raine, is following closely in her dad’s pre-acting footsteps as a wrestler.
After signing with the WWE in October 2020, per Sportskeeda, the daughter of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been making waves in the sporting industry as a fourth generation star for the company.
According to Metro, Raine has been part of the “creepy cult group” Schism for much of her time with NXT – where amateur wrestlers compete to become WWE’s next big star. However, when British wrestling duo (and fellow Schism members) the Grizzled Young Veterans quit WWE, the group was suddenly no more.
In December, it seemed WWE bosses were instead positioning Raine as some sort of authority figure in the women’s division, as she appeared on screen to reveal her plans for WWE’s Deadline livestream wrestling event.
“We’re four days away from Deadline and things are out of control around here,” she says to someone off camera, looking just like her famous dad. “You saw what happened in the trainer’s room. Roxanne Perez and Kiana James cannot keep their hands off of each other,” she shared, “So, it’s official. This Saturday at Deadline, Kiana and Roxanne will finally settle their differences in a Steel Cage Match.”

Ava Raine is the daughter of Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia
Raine, 22, was born in Florida in 2001 to her parents Dwayne Johnson and his first wife, Dany Garcia (pictured below). The Baywatch actor has two more daughters – Jasmine Johnson, seven, and Tiana Johnson, five – with his current wife, Lauren Hashian.
She’s a WWE wrestler
Raine is not only going down the same path as her father, Dwayne, but also her late grandfather Rocky Johnson and her great-grandfather “High Chief” Peter Maivia, per People. The same source states that she is also the youngest signee in the history of WWE.
She made her TV debut last year
Per Business Insider, Simone Johnson made her official WWE TV debut as Ava Raine in October 2022.
Her dad is proud and supportive of her
Considering the achievements she’s amassed at such a young age, it’s hardly surprising to hear that her doting dad is very proud of her.
“First of all, what an honour that my daughter wants to follow in my footsteps, but more importantly, follow in my footsteps sounds cliché, but she actually wants to create and blaze her own path, which is so important,” the Jungle Cruise actor, 51, said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon back in 2020.
