Well-known Israeli actor and singer Idan Amedi has been seriously wounded while fighting in Gaza – he was reportedly with the IDF’s Combat Engineering Corps

He stars in Netflix’s hit war drama Fauda, is married to activist Miriam Binyaminov, with whom he shares two children, and is very fond of his two dogs

Israeli actor and singer Idan Amedi has been seriously wounded while fighting in Gaza, as reported by the New York Post earlier this week.

The 35-year-old was reportedly with the Israel Defense Force’s Combat Engineering Corps at the time of his injury. According to the article, his father said that his son is expected to recover from the incident and it poses “no danger to his life”.

Amedi is known for playing the role of Sagi Tzur in Fauda season two. “Idan Amedi is a real hero and from the first day of the war he decided to put everything aside and go out to fight,” the show screenwriters wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “First in the north and then in the south. We pray for his speedy recovery and are sure he will be fine.”

Amedi is an Israeli singer and actor. He was born in Pisgat Ze’ev, Jerusalem, in 1988. Per his biography, he released his eponymous debut album in 2011.

Besides music, Amedi is also known for his TV career. Per CNN, he joined the cast of Fauda in 2017. The show follows the story of a “top Israeli agent who comes out of retirement to hunt for a Palestinian fighter he thought he’d killed” according to its Netflix page.
