Padma Lakshmi’s one and only child Krishna has been making more public appearances lately. The 13-year-old recently joined her Top Chef mum at the Emmys where she schmoozed Hollywood A-listers and enjoyed a night of glitz and glamour.
It’s not the first time the teen has tagged along for her mum’s VIP events either.
Last month, she showed her support on the red carpet at Time’s Person of the Year awards, where her mum was commemorated with the Time Impact Award, per Today.

Who is Krishna Lakshmi’s father?
Besides having a famous mum, Krishna also hails from tech royalty via her father.
As reported by People in 2010, Krishna’s father is Adam Dell, a venture capitalist and the brother of Michael Dell, founder of tech giant Dell Inc. That means Krishna’s uncle is Michael, who’s worth a staggering US$70 billion, per Forbes.
According to People, Adam and Lakshmi began dating in 2009, before calling it quits in 2021.
Lakshmi was previously married to Salman Rushdie.

The Indian-born TV chef became a mother at the age of 39, per the Hindustan Times. She called the pregnancy a “medical miracle” after years of dealing with endometriosis, states the source.

Padma’s daughter, who’s referred to by her mum as “littlehands”, has appeared in Padma’s cooking series Taste the Nation.
People reports that Krishna appeared in a Hanukkah-themed episode of the show. “Her father’s family, originally, is from New York and is Ashkenazi Jewish and did live on the Lower East Side. And so to do an episode about Ashkenazi Jews in New York and pretend that I have no connection to it would’ve been disingenuous,” Padma told the magazine.
She likes to cook
Apparently Krishna likes to cook too! In an interview with Parents.com, Padma said of her daughter: “The other day she FaceTimed me to ask, ‘Mum, how hot does oil have to be to fry chicken?’ I was like, ‘What? That’s too dangerous!’ But she was adamant about doing it, so I walked her through the steps.”
She added that Krishna had “prepared the egg wash, the breadcrumbs and the flour, and had the paper towels and tongs all ready. She had even salted the breading”.
