Fame and celebrity

  • Christie Brinkley turns 70 on February 2, looks fabulous, and is embracing her seventh decade with gratitude despite trolls criticising her wrinkles on an Instagram post last year
  • The supermodel told Tamron Hall her top 3 tips, including wearing sunscreen, eating a good, vegetarian diet, and staying curious and adventurous

Christie Brinkley turns 70 on February 2 – and she’s wholeheartedly embracing her seventh decade with open arms.

In a recent interview with People, the former Sports Illustrated model chatted candidly about growing older. “I want to accept certain wrinkles. That’s the way I’m approaching ageing,” she told the publication.

“Sometimes when people get older, and they overdo it, they can look waxy and – I don’t know what the word is – preserved or something. I want a little life to show on my face, you know?” she shared.

She later revealed to People that she “remains open” to a relationship, but “there just doesn’t seem to be anybody out there”. “At the same time,” she continued, “I am pretty comfortable with my life the way it is, so, que sera, sera!”

However, being in the limelight certainly has its setbacks, with the supermodel still being scrutinised for her appearance even now. When she posted a selfie to Instagram last June with the caption “downtown girl”, she received a wave of negative comments about the way she looked. She updated the caption to clap back at the haters, referring to them as the “wrinkle brigade”, per People. “It must be some form of compensation for something they are lacking,” she added.

Haters aside, it’s clear that Brinkley looks amazing – especially for her age. Here’s how she keeps up her forever youthful appearance.
