Whatever Taylor Swift does in public is almost certain to attract attention – even if it’s something as mundane as going to the gym.

On March 25, the “Anti-Hero” singer enjoyed some workout time with her beau Travis Kelce at the celeb-favoured Dogpound gym in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, where they literally shut the place down so they could exercise in private, according to TMZ.

According to initial reports, the couple took over the gym for two hours, leaving other members waiting outside in confusion. However, a rep for Dogpound later disputed the claims, telling TMZ: “Dogpound is a by-appointment establishment. We value members’ experience and have never had anyone wait outside for two hours. The narrative running in the media does not accurately reflect circumstances. We respect the privacy of our clients.”

TMZ did some more digging and discovered that the people pictured outside the establishment were in fact Dogpound employees, who are also required to leave the premises when Swift works out there.

Per the same source, Swift is not only an avid fan of Dogpound’s tailored training, but she also loves the privacy she gets there. TMZ reports that she even tried to kick out Justin Bieber in 2020 after he stayed too long during one of her workouts at the gym.

Here’s a peek inside the prestigious gym beloved by Swift herself:

Dogpound was founded in 2016 by Kirk Myers, opening his first branch in New York and his second in LA in 2019. He told CNBC in 2019 how he started the brand from scratch. “My sister gave me US$300 because I lost everything I had,” he said, adding that he stayed in his brother’s apartment in the city while he tried to find clients to train. It took him about three years to build up his reputation. “I had two clients, then four clients, then eight clients, then 16 clients,” he said.

According to the website, Dogpound uses a range of methods to help its clients maintain fitness. Training styles include focusing on athletic performance, boxing, kettlebells, weight loss, body building, cardio, recovery and pre and postnatal training.

Myers explained to CNBC that each training session is one to one and personalised depending on the client. But everyone can expect two things – a full-body workout that engages the core, legs and arms, plus many, many burpees. “It spikes your heart rate up and works your full body,” Myers told the outlet.
