On December 28 last year, 32-year-old Blanchard was released from prison on parole after pleading guilty to second-degree murder and being sentenced to 10 years in prison back in 2016. In 2015, she conspired with Nicholas Godejohn, her then-boyfriend whom she met on a Christian dating site, to kill her mother, Clauddine “Dee Dee” Blanchard. Dee Dee is believed to have had a condition known as Munchhausen syndrome by proxy, forcing Gypsy Rose to undergo unnecessary medical treatments and present with illnesses and disabilities that she did not have. Gypsy Rose has since characterised her mother’s treatment as abuse.

Gypsy Rose married her husband Ryan Anderson in 2022 from behind bars, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “It was very, very small, we didn’t have any guests,” she told People. “It was just something for him”.

Since Blanchard issued her statement about their impending divorce, it didn’t take long for a doctored image of Blanchard holding hands Pete Davidson to go viral, as netizens joke about the SNL star’s reputation for being a serial dater and began to speculate who Blanchard might date next and why.
