Richard Gere just made a rare public appearance with his wife, Alejandra Silva, at the 2024 City Harvest Gala.

The couple, who have a 33-year age gap, attended the event at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City on April 10. In the pics from the bash, the pair can be seen posing alongside honoree John Legend and his wife, Chrissy Teigen.

Silva, 41, was born into a family with links to football. According to People, her father Ignacio Silva Botas was vice-president of Spanish football club Real Madrid from 1995 to 2000.

Per People, Silva runs a non-profit organisation, Rais Fundacion, which aims to eradicate homelessness in Spain. “I’ve slept on the street to understand the struggles of the homeless,” she told Hola! in 2015. “I’m not scared of rolling up my sleeves and diving into work. If I do something, I put 100 per cent effort in. If I can’t, I’d rather not do it.”

How did Alejandra Silva meet Richard Gere?

Silva and Gere, 74, reportedly knew each long before they got together, with the Pretty Woman actor being a family friend to his then future wife, states People. They started dating around 2014, and tied the knot in April 2018 in a secret ceremony.

Addressing their massive age gap, Silva told Hola!: “I’m not ignoring our age difference and what it means to be with a Hollywood star, but when there’s such a strong karmic energy, the problems disappear.”
