Meet Gavin Rossdale’s new girlfriend, Xhoana X – who looks just like his ex Gwen Stefani: the Albanian-born singer was ‘grateful’ for No Doubt growing up and has met the former couple’s kids
As seen in photos obtained by Page Six last week, Rossdale and Xhoana X went on a sweet escape to Cabo San Lucas, where they showed off some serious PDA.
However, netizens had to do a double take after coming across the pics, with many comparing Xhoana X to Stefani, as they both rock platinum blonde hair, red pouts and confidence in the way they pose.
Here’s what we know about Rossdale’s new girlfriend, fellow music artist Xhoana X.
Where is Xhoana X from?
In an interview with American Songwriter, Xhoana X, 35 – whose real name is Xhoana Xheneti – said she was born in Tirana, Albania and “grew up in a post-communist Albania”.
What does Xhoana X do for work?
Xhoana X is a singer. She talked about her musical inspirations during a 2021 interview with CelebMix – which included Stefani’s former band: “When I came here [to the US] in 1996, there was Tupac, Biggie and No Doubt, and then Prodigy and Radiohead, so just massive nonstop inspiration, which I’m massively grateful for. I think you hear it all in my music – the attitude, the rebellion, the nostalgia, the vulnerability, the eclecticism.”
How did Xhoana X and Gavin Rossdale meet?
They met over social media. In an appearance on the Amy and TJ podcast, Rossdale spoke about how he encountered his then future girlfriend for the first time. “She’s a musician so I heard a track,” he said in March. “So I did do kind of the DM slide, saying, ‘I like your music,’ which – I do like her music.”
The couple went Instagram official the same month as Rossdale’s podcast interview – though they had already been linked months before.
Why did Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale split up?
It’s unclear exactly why they called it quits in 2015 after years of being together, but various reports suggest that it was due to allegations around Rossdale’s infidelity with the children’s nanny, per Independent. In a 2016 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Stefani described her divorce and the publicity around it as “months of torture”, adding that their child Apollo was “only 11 months old when everything happened”.
In 2015, Us Weekly broke the news that Rossdale had allegedly been having a three-year long affair with Mindy Mann, the children’s nanny, which may have contributed to the divorce of Stefani and Rossdale.
Stefani has since moved on though, and has described her relationship with current husband Shelton in a positive light. “I didn’t see any of this coming with Blake. It was an amazing gift to experience love like that for the first time,” she told People last year.
Meanwhile, Rossdale doesn’t think there’s much similarity in the way he and his ex bring up their kids. “I think we just ‘parent’. We’re really different people, I don’t think there’s much similarity in the way we bring them up,” he said in a June 2023 appearance on the Not So Hollywood podcast.
In his appearance on the Amy & TJ podcast in March, Rossdale confirmed that his new girlfriend has met his kids. “She has met my children,” he said.
