Which celebrities are on the Blockout 2024 list? Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber and Kim Kardashian are losing thousands of Instagram followers for their stance – or lack of – on the Israel-Gaza war

- In what TikTok’s @ladyfromtheoutside called a ‘digital guillotine’, thousands of fans are taking part in a social media boycott, hoping to pressure celebrities to speak out about Gaza
- Not even the Kardashians or pop royalty are safe, with Zendaya, Selena Gomez, Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber and Gal Gadot being among those affected
The stars’ Instagram accounts have been impacted as part of #blockout2024, or what TikTok user @ladyfromtheoutside last week referred to as a “digital guillotine”.

“We gave them their platforms,” the internet personality said in a May 9 video, which has since been seen over 2.5 million times. “It’s time to take it back, take our views away, our likes, our comments, our money by blocking them on all social media and digital platforms.”
Here are some of the other celebrities who’ve been affected by the blockout.
1 and 2. Justin and Hailey Bieber

The newly pregnant couple, who previously posted Instagram Stories denouncing antisemitism, have been targeted next for their silence on the conflict in Gaza.
Justin was also criticised when he posted the phrase “praying for Israel” on top of a picture showing bombed buildings – but he removed it when others noted that the image actually portrayed the Gaza Strip.
