Fame and celebrity

Since landing the gangster TV show gig, Cole has gone on to co-star with A-list actors like Woody Harrelson and Margot Robbie

Stop the presses: it looks like the movie world’s favourite “It” girl may have found love (again). As cuffing season rolls around, English actress Florence Pugh may have found herself a new man. For a while, it was unclear who the Oppenheimer star’s mystery man was but, according to reports, it’s none other than Peaky Blinders breakout star Finn Cole, who starred in the Cillian Murphy-fronted gangster series.

The rumoured couple was spotted this week in East London, attending the premiere of Nicole Kidman’s latest Netflix series, The Perfect Couple. The pair also attended the after-party and were supposedly spotted leaving together.

The duo, who are said to have been friends for a long time, were reportedly seen together at Glastonbury Festival earlier this year too, and the Don’t Worry Darling actress apparently supported the young Englishman at his stage debut in Red Speedo in London.

Here’s everything we know about Finn Cole.

Cole hails from Kingston, London, where he was raised with four brothers. His father worked on boats and, according to Interview magazine, that was one of Cole’s career aspirations too. But in school, Cole was surrounded by people who enjoyed acting, and his favourite teacher got him interested in the art, too. He eventually joined the National Youth Theatre at 17.

Today, Cole is a rising star who has made acclaimed appearances in films and TV shows like Animal Kingdom and Slaughterhouse Rulez. He even appeared alongside Margot Robbie in 2019’s Dreamland.

Cole certainly has a knack for picking “sociopathic characters”, telling Variety, “I’m fascinated by personalities that succeed in that way of life, and those that fail in that way of life. I’m intrigued about why and what makes someone be able to make these decisions and not feel remorse or guilt.”
