Fame and celebrity

The 87-year-old Kramer vs Kramer star and his wife were recently seen holding hands in Manhattan – so who is the actor’s partner of 44 years, Lisa Hoffman?

If you’re looking for a Hollywood power couple to model your relationship on, look no further than the Hoffmans. Hollywood legend Dustin Hoffman and his wife Lisa Hoffman have been married for 44 years, which Lisa considers to be a much longer time than it already is. “I say in Hollywood it is like dog years, so you have to multiply that by seven,” she told Closer Weekly in a 2017 interview, adding that their love for each other keeps growing stronger.

The Kramer vs Kramer actor was recently spotted on a relatively rare public outing with his wife in Manhattan. The actor looked dapper in a navy jacket over a light blue button down and pair of black jeans, while Lisa opted for a black blazer, a striped button down and white trousers. In July, the two were seen together at Wimbledon, where the Oscar-winning actor was photographed planting a kiss on his wife’s cheek in the Royal Box.

While Lisa Hoffman is best-known for being the love of Dustin Hoffman’s life, she has made a name for herself in a field completely different from her husband’s. She even considers herself “far from a celebrity”, per People. So, what do we know about her life?

She was born Lisa Jo Gottsegen in September 1954 and brought up in Los Angeles. According to People magazine, she graduated from Colorado University with a degree in psychology and followed it up with a law degree. However, she never got the chance to turn her second degree into a career after she began travelling around with Dustin for his work. She then studied perfumery in Grasse, France.

She’s a CEO

With a passion for fragrance and the formal education to back it up, Lisa founded her own eponymous skincare, fragrance and jewellery line. She is currently president and CEO of the company, which offers perfumes inspired by her travels, such as Hawaiian Plumeria, which the brand’s website says evokes memories of the couple’s honeymoon on the island.

Another speciality of the house is its fragrance jewellery, inspired by a gift of Victorian earrings Lisa received from her husband. The jewellery gets its scent from fragrance beads that are sustainable and eco-friendly. The brand has won several awards and so has its CEO.

The couple’s meet cute will convince you that fate is real. Per Closer Weekly, they first met at a family barbecue when she was only 10 and he was 17 years older than her. His mother knew her grandmother and introduced them to each other. It was all the way back then that she apparently knew he would be her future husband. “After we got together, my grandmother reminded me that later that day I had said, ‘I hope he waits for me because I want to marry him,’” she revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail.
