Halle Berry doesn’t believe that her ex-husband Eric Benét previously battled sex addiction, as reported by Us Weekly.

In a recent appearance on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, the 58-year-old Catwoman actress revealed how she thought his claims were bogus. “I had one husband who said he was a sex addict,” she said on the show. “But I don’t f***ing believe that s***.”

Although she didn’t explicitly state Benét’s name, it was widely reported that the musician went to rehab for sex addiction back in 2002, while he was still married to Berry, per Us Weekly. The same article notes that Benét had been unfaithful to the Oscar-winning actress during their relationship, which eventually ended in divorce.

In a confessional interview with People magazine in 2005, he said: “We all know I cheated. It was out there. It’s a betrayal.”

He added, “But I never did have sexual intercourse with anyone while I was with Halle. Going into rehab was presented to me by her mother that in order for the marriage to have a shot, this is what you need to do …. But I’m not a sex addict. I wanted to save my marriage and do anything necessary to do that. I went and heard other people’s stories and realised this is really not my struggle.”
