Former One Direction star Liam Payne has died in Argentina after falling from the third floor of a hotel – here’s what we know about his parents, as the world mourns the loss of the singer

Former One Direction star Liam Payne has died in Argentina after falling from the third floor of a hotel.

The singer was just 31 years old. According to police in Buenos Aires, officers arrived at the scene as they had initially been called in after reports “of an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol”, per the BBC. An investigation is underway.

Per Page Six, Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy had left Argentina to go back to Florida solo two days before his tragic death. The pair were in the city earlier this month to attend fellow 1D alum Niall Horan’s concert on October 4.
