The young actors had been hinting at their relationship on social media for months and were recently seen hand in hand at a Burberry event, confirming their couple status

Love is in the air! White Noise star Sam Nivola and Funny People actress Iris Apatow are officially an item. The twosome made their debut in the public eye recently and were photographed hand in hand in New York City at the reopening of Burberry’s East 57th Street flagship store.

Serving up cosy autumn vibes in their matching white and brown Burberry ’fits, Nivola and Apatow looked perfectly in sync. Interestingly, the new couple have more in common than you might think.

Nivola is the son of The Newsroom actress Emily Mortimer and Sag Award-winning actor Alessandro Nivola. Nivola Jr made his television debut in his parents’ show Doll & Em, written by his mum and produced by his dad. The 21-year-old has also appeared in Mortimer’s 2021 series The Pursuit of Love.

Apatow is the daughter of Hollywood mainstays Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann. She got her start in television through her dad’s show Love, which was produced by his company Apatow Productions. The 22-year-old’s first four silver-screen credits, excluding a voice acting role in Sausage Party (2016), were in her parents’ films Knocked Up (2007), Funny People (2009), This is 40 (2012) and The Bubble (2022).

They’ve been dating for a while

Nivola and Apatow have been hinting at their romance for months. In a post he shared on Instagram in April, the two can be seen hanging out with Nivola’s White Lotus castmates Patrick Schwarzenegger and Sarah Catherine Hook in Thailand.

In May, they were spending time together again, with Nivola in Instagram boyfriend mode, taking the most perfect pics of Apatow. Under a photo dump of her he posted on Instagram, the Unstable actress commented with a couple emoji and a red heart emoji, to which he replied with a hand-heart. By June, Apatow, who previously dated Kate Hudson’s son Ryder Robinson, was kissing Nivola on the cheek.

Leslie Mann seems to be more than happy about her daughter’s new relationship as she is often seen leaving hearts under the young couple’s photos on Instagram. The 17 Again actress and her husband, Judd Apatow, are following Nivola on the platform. Similarly, his parents are following Iris Apatow on IG.
