Stella Baker, like her Aussie acting parents Simon Baker and Rebecca Rigg, treads the boards – but what else do we know about the budding star, who is older than her father’s rumoured girlfriend?

The Mentalist star Simon Baker enjoyed some quality time with the women in his life on a visit to New York late last month. The actor, 55, was spotted hand-in-hand with his rumoured girlfriend, 30-year-old photographer Brigette Clark, on the streets of the city days before he stepped out with his daughter, Stella Baker, 31, reports the Daily Mail. Melbourne native Clark is said to be a few months younger than her boyfriend’s daughter and has reportedly been dating him on and off since 2022.

Stella Baker, on the other hand, is making her own name in the entertainment industry. In January, she played the lead role in Alexandr Molochnikov’s play Seagull F***** at New York’s La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. The actress made her Broadway debut in Peter Morgan’s Patriots last year and is also known for TV shows Tell Me Your Secrets and The Republic of Sarah.

So what else do we know about Stella Baker, who had a cameo role in The Mentalist in 2014 as an angry prison inmate?

Like her parents, actors Simon Baker and Rebecca Rigg, Stella was born in Australia, she told 1883 Magazine. She has two younger brothers, Claude and Harry. Stella was raised in Los Angeles and moved to Portland to attend college, where she studied philosophy, per Who What Wear. Later, she graduated from the Yale School of Drama. Per the Daily Mail, she now lives in New York.

Stella tried her hand at writing and producing before standing in front of the camera, says Flaunt Magazine. In Who What Wear she revealed her parents insisted that she pursue “education first and then acting later”. Accordingly she went to college, but caught the acting bug after appearing in a theatre production. “It felt like it was what I wanted to do and what I needed to be doing all of the time,” she mused, per 1883 Magazine.
