Billy Crudup reunited with his ex-girlfriend Claire Danes at the New York University Tisch School of the Arts Gala on April 7.
The Morning Show actor, 56, was seen approaching Danes, 46, whom he dated from 2003 to 2007, and the pair hugged each other.

Despite their happy reunion at the Gala, it’s hard to forget that their relationship was marred by controversy when Crudup abandoned his seven-month pregnant girlfriend of eight years, Mary Louise Parker, for Danes.
Parker and Crudup welcomed their son, William Atticus Parker, in 2004, and have since set aside their differences for the sake of their child.

He is named after a book character

William Atticus Parker was born on January 7, 2004. The 21-year-old is named after his father, who was born William Gaither Crudup. His middle name comes from the fictional character Atticus Finch from Harper Lee’s 1960 novel, How to Kill a Mockingbird.
“I just want him to be happy and kind, that’s why I gave him that middle name,” Mary-Louise Parker said in an interview with Daily Mail’s You magazine in June 2007.
