After two weeks of social media teasers hinting at a new project, Hilary Swank launched Mission Statement on October 18.

Swank joins a string of celebrities that have designed athleisure lines – including Heidi Klum, Selena Gomez, Kate Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Jessica Simpson, Beyoncé, Kanye West and Rihanna.

As the brand's name highlights, Swank's line intends to inspire and motivate. Giving her renowned #FitnessFridays on Instagram a commercial dimension, the Academy Award winner hopes to empower women who are experiencing challenges.

With a distinctly feminist edge, she claims that her brand encourages women to practice self-care and fulfil their potential.

"Figure out what that is for you and live it. Make a choice. Make it happen."

Swank says she wanted to design clothing that "merge[s] high-performance and high-fashion", bringing luxury to the gym and athleticism to the office.

"I wanted to create elegant clothes that ... allow you to find that perfect balance of movement while working out, in the office, resting or playing."
