Harry Styles is the new face of Gucci’s men’s tailoring campaign
For its autumn/winter 2018/19 collection, Gucci has selected British pop idol Harry Styles as the face of its men’s tailoring campaign. The fashion house and Styles have collaborated previously. Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele, designed one-of-a-kind ensembles for Styles’ tour in 2017.
The new advertising campaign, shot by Glen Luchford with art direction by Christopher Simmonds, features Styles inside and outside a “chippy” – a local fish and chip shop – in north London. The “chippy” experience is elevated by Gucci glamour. If Styles dressed in Gucci is not enough to win you over, the adorable dogs definitely will.
Styles models a selection of contemporary Gucci tailored outfits. The modern tailoring is paired with formal ties and shirts as well as casual button-up shirts, moccasins, sandals and sneakers.
One look features him in a suit paired with an ink-grey bee check coat. In another look, a suit is paired with a wool mohair green check blanket.
Other outfits include a splash-dark beige macro gingham dressing gown, worn as a coat; a decorative dark wool mohair jacket with embroidered collar detail; and a wool suit with oatmeal-coloured NY Yankees patches.
The narrative echoes acclaimed scenes from British films and photographs.
