Photo, posted on Instagram, teases look of shoes the luxury brand will unveil at debut show of men’s artistic director on Thursday at Paris Fashion Week

Thanks to Mathias Patillon, Louis Vuitton‘s head of design men’s footwear, we have a first look at Virgil Abloh’s debut trainer design for the luxury house.

First teased in sketches earlier in June, Patillon posted a tantalisingly obscure photo on Instagram showing the soles of the trainers.

The sole has grey, white and red panelling, with all-caps “VUITTON” branding in black.

The uppers are mostly obscured, but a closer look reveals a gold signature, silver, black and white panels and dark laces.

A silver strap, emblazoned with tiny white text, tightens the high-top silhouette’s shaft, which sports an upwards-angled “408”. The model is definitely reminiscent of retro basketball trainers.

Stay tuned for the silhouette to premiere at Thursday’s debut Louis Vuitton presentation by Abloh – the luxury brand’s men’s artistic director – at Paris Fashion Week.
