This month, La Mer invited Fong to help promote its “Ways to Love La Mer” campaign, which continues to draw on the brand’s affinity with the ocean’s healing abilities.

Fong’s ode to the ocean – a duet with fellow singer Diana Wang written in collaboration with La Mer – made its debut at an event hosted by the brand in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, last Friday.

With water as the focus, it was rather apt that it was raining during the event, which also featured Hong Kong celebrities and singers AGA and Janice Vidal.

They performed live onstage before La Mer officially unveiled Fong’s full-length original song, written specially for the Ways to Love La Mer campaign.

The campaign also features an exhibition at Harbour City featuring impressionist paintings by Hong Kong-based artist Martin Lever, which were inspired by different topographies of Hong Kong.

The artwork of Lever – known for being able to “simply close his eyes and paint what he sees” – showed the city’s landscapes in an unconventional way through this use of vibrant colours.

A giant music box installation, which extends into a landscape reminiscent of Hong Kong's sprawling city, is also on display.
