In 1975, Giorgio Armani founded his namesake company in Milan. That same year, he also already presented his first collection of ready-to-wear menswear. Other than exemplifying fresh, clean tailored lines, Armani has made some dramatic contributions to the fashion industry.

In the 1980s, Armani was also pioneering a revolution in red-carpet fashion, offering celebrities a modern style option to the old Hollywood glamour and sequins.

His innovative attitude in fashion also extended to banning underweight models on his catwalk and broadcasting his Armani Prive spring and summer 2007 fashion show live on the internet – a first in haute couture shows.
