Two iconic British labels – Vivienne Westwood and Burberry – found common ground in their new collaboration. The news was announced in July on Instagram, featuring a group profile of Riccardo Tisci, Westwood, and her husband and business partner Andreas Kronthaler. The limited edition, paying homage to the nation’s fashion heritage, will be revealed this month.

Why has Burberry gone all superstitious about the number 17?

Combining the trench-coat maker’s upper-class elegance and Westwood’s rebellious punk spirit, the collection includes a series of reimagined signature British designs from vintage check to minis.

“Vivienne Westwood was one of the first designers who made me dream about becoming a designer,” Tisci explains. “When I first started at Burberry, I knew it would be the perfect opportunity to approach her to do something. She is a rebel, a punk and unrivalled in her unique representation of British style, which has inspired so many of us. I am incredibly proud of what we have created.”
