Disney launches designer Minnie and Mickey Mouse ears with Heidi Klum, Karlie Kloss and Vera Wang

Vera Wang, Heidi Klum and Karlie Kloss team up on project
The mouse ear headbands are a favourite among children (and a few adults). In elevating this much-loved accessory to a new level, Disney has announced its collaboration with a range of artists and brands. In a new avatar, the headbands will come adorned with embellishments and designs particular to each associator that will soon be available to buy.

Among the mavericks who have been roped in for the project include fashion brands Coach and The Blonds, jewellery brand Alex and Ani, designers Betsey Johnson and Vera Wang, actress Ashley Eckstein, and supermodels Heidi Klum and Karlie Kloss.
“Last year, Disney asked if I would be interested in designing my own pair of Minnie ears,” Eckstein said on Instagram. “I was shocked and in utter disbelief. I spent an entire weekend sketching ideas.”

Lisa Baldzicki, vice-president of merchandise and product development for Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, said: “We were intentionally broad with the collaborators that we reached out to for this campaign. We wanted to make sure this campaign was special and different from everything we’ve done.”
There will be a limited release of the new Disney Mouse ears when they go on sale at the Disneyland Resort in California, the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and on Disney’s online shop.
