What makes the Saint Laurent man or woman pop in the dimly-lit club scene is not a pompous show of chiffon or shroud, but the attitude – à la Parisienne. And maybe the backlight.
The #YSL22 campaign by creative director Anthony Vaccarello teased the Saint Laurent attitude for the Pre-Fall collection, using a backlight effect on models Simona Kust, Rebecca Leigh Longendyke, Nikita Rumjancevs and Vassili Schneider in black-and-white outfits.
The film tells us that the attitude comes easy when you are wearing a perfect little black dress or tailored suit, statement pumps or graphic derbies, riffing off your androgynous appeal and sliding into sultry stockings like it’s nobody’s business.

Kiki kitten heels in optic white satin with strass detailing featured in the teaser film, while the fluorescent patent leather variations in electric magenta and neon yellow were unveiled in the ready-to-wear collection.
All renditions of these new Kikis have a backlight effect, meaning your shoe-game will be popping regardless.
Our favourite look pairs the neon Kiki kitten heel with an asymmetric velvet black dress and the sheerest black stockings.
The pointed-toe covered heel is available in three heights – 55mm or kitten heel, 85mm and 100mm.
For even more “party girl” vibes, like the Pre-Fall collection so devotedly espouses, the Kiki pumps have also been animated with mirror finishing – a mirror-look leather in fuchsia, silver platinum and royal blue.
