This year’s Paris Couture Week was full of wonders. If you haven’t seen couture-week regular Celine Dion changing outfits like a style chameleon between shows, head to Instagram, hashtag her name and you will know what I mean.

Back on the runways, we saw a strong feminist message prevail in the fashion industry, highlighted by the designer-in-chief trio atop the three most revered couture houses. Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri, dubbed fashion’s feminist ambassador added a powerful manifesto with her beautiful, almost all-black collection. Chanel’s new artistic director Virginie Viard, made an intelligent high-fashion debut at the Grand Palais after Karl Lagerfeld’s death in February while Givenchy’s Clare Waight Keller presented a noble, modern collection.

Valentino demands an essential mention. Each outfit was uniquely gorgeous, woven with the unspeakable craftsmanship, and together the show was like a magnificent Renaissance dream.
