STORYGloria Tso

Hailey Bieber stunned in a Chanel skirt suit, TSITP and Y2K style queen Lola Tung donned a Dior dress, while Sabrina Carpenter channelled Madonna, Cher and Britney Spears
As 2025 draws to a close, the year may best be remembered for all the new runway and red carpet fashion, given the unprecedented number of new designers making debuts at major luxury houses, from Dior to Chanel.
One major trend from yesteryear, however, is here to stay. From Sabrina Carpenter’s multiple Bob Mackie looks at the MTV Video Music Awards to Emma Stone’s Gwyneth Paltrow moment in vintage Donna Karan, celebrities gave us no shortage of major archival fashion pulls to admire this year. See some of our favourites below.
Chappell Roan in Jean Paul Gaultier

With the help of stylist Genesis Webb, who also works with Blackpink’s Lisa, Roan has become not only one of the hottest singers to watch at the moment, but also a bona fide style icon. Roan, who is well-known for her audacious, head-turning outfits and drag queen-esque make-up looks, stunned at the Grammys earlier this year wearing an archival Jean Paul Gaultier gown from his spring 2003 couture collection. The tulle skirt was printed with painter Edgar Degas’ beautiful ballerinas.
Kendall Jenner in Mugler

Jenner and her Kardashian clan have always turned heads with their impressive vintage finds, but her lacy black gown at the 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar Party – pulled straight from Mugler’s spring/summer 1992 collection – still made a lasting impression. Styled by long-time collaborator Dani Michelle, Jenner looked every bit the Old Hollywood star in the gown’s lacy black flowers and flattering silhouette.
Lola Tung in Dior by John Galliano

The Summer I Turned Pretty star Lola Tung was on a generational style run promoting the show’s third season this year, donning several Y2K-inspired looks. This paisley minidress from 2004, however – pulled straight from John Galliano’s Dior archives – took the cake. Stylist Britt McCamey sourced the look from luxury consignment marketplace The RealReal.
