So what can we look forward to bingeing this month? Here’s the list in ascending order … New shows 5. Inventing Anna – Netflix, February 11 Description : “Audacious entrepreneur or con artist? A reporter digs into how Anna Delvey convinced New York’s elite she was a German heiress. Based on a true story.” 4. Pam & Tommy – Hulu, February 2 Description : “Set in the Wild West early days of the internet, Pam & Tommy is based on the incredible true story of the Pamela Anderson (Lily James) and Tommy Lee’s (Sebastian Stan) sex tape. Stolen from the couple’s home by a disgruntled contractor (Seth Rogen), the video went from underground bootleg-VHS curiosity to full-blown cultural obsession when it hit the web in 1997.” Meet Park Solomon, breakout star of zombie K-drama All of Us Are Dead 3. Vikings: Valhalla – Netflix, February 25 Description : “In this sequel to Vikings , a hundred years have passed and a new generation of legendary heroes arises to forge its own destiny – and make history.” 2. Power Book IV: Force – Starz, February 6 Description : “ Power Book IV: Force centers on fan-favourite character Tommy Egan, played by Joseph Sikora, after he cuts ties and puts New York in his rear-view mirror for good. As Tommy leaves New York after losing Ghost, LaKeisha and the only city he’s ever known, he makes a quick detour to close an old wound that’s been haunting him for decades. What was supposed to be a quick stop turns into a labyrinth of family secrets and lies Tommy thought were long buried.” How Ronaldo lit up the world’s tallest building for his girlfriend’s birthday 1. Reacher – Amazon Prime Video, February 4 Description : “Based on the books by Lee Child, Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) was arrested for murder and now the police need his help.” Returning shows 5. Dollface, season two – Hulu, February 11 Description : “Kat Dennings stars as a young woman who, after being dumped by her long-time boyfriend, must deal with her own imagination when she literally and metaphorically re-enters the world of women, to rekindle the female friendships she left behind.” Rotten Tomatoes critic score : 59 per cent What critics said : “It’s the pastel-coloured clichés, woefully outdated attempts at slang and a singular vision of what womanhood is in 2019 that makes the show cringeworthy in all the wrong ways.” – USA Today (season one) How Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will take 2022 by storm 4. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel , season four – Amazon Prime Video, February 18 Description : “It’s 1960 and change is in the air. Looking to hone her act, Midge finds a gig with total creative freedom. But her commitment to her craft – and the places it takes her – creates a rift between her and the family and friends around her.” Rotten Tomatoes critic score : 88 per cent What critics said : “ The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has reached a point where its aesthetic, which definitely revels in the trappings that come with upper-class life, may be more blatantly at odds with the direction in which Midge needs to go to grow as a character.” – Vulture (season three) 3. Raising Dion, season two – Netflix, February 1 Description : “ Raising Dion follows the story of Nicole (Alisha Wainwright) and her son Dion (Ja’Siah Young) after Dion starts to manifest several mysterious, superhero-like abilities. Two years after defeating the Crooked Man (Jason Ritter), season two follows Dion as he continues honing his powers with the support of his mum and Tevin (Rome Flynn), his Biona trainer who catches Nicole’s eye. After befriending new student Brayden (Griffin Robert Faulkner) – a fellow powered kid – a series of alarming events unfold, and Dion learns that danger is still looming. Navigating twists, turns, and surprise visitors, Dion and Nicole must prevail again – not just to save themselves, but the entire city of Atlanta.” Meet Single’s Inferno host Lee Da-hee – also a model, actress and singer Rotten Tomatoes critic score : 83 per cent What critics said : “ Raising Dion makes for an exciting children’s show about tapping into your power to make the world a better place. Sweet Magnolias, season two – Netflix, February 4 Description : “Together, the Magnolias work through new relationships, old wounds and town politics as the sweet parts of life blend with the salty and the sour.” Rotten Tomatoes critic score : 78 per cent What critics said : “I cannot in good faith describe this show as ‘good’ (please see Klein’s accent or most of the acting) but I also can’t deny that it knows exactly what it’s trying to be.” – Guardian (season one) 1. Space Force, season two – Netflix, February 18 Description : “A four-star general begrudgingly teams up with an eccentric scientist to get the US military’s newest agency – Space Force – ready for lift-off.” Rotten Tomatoes critic score : 39 per cent What critics said : “So strange and ill-conceived and ill-timed that not even Carell’s avuncular bonhomie can save it.
