Art Basel 2022 promises to make a welcome impact this weekend, returning to Hong Kong after something of a soft relaunch last year. But it’s not the only artsy event taking place this weekend – these are some of the other big cultural attractions to seek out:

Conductor Fayçal Karoui and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra present a unique experience, performing the works of baroque legends Charpentier, Gluck and Rameau followed by the music of Paul McCartney and The Beatles, all in a single concert.

2. Emo Gym

Curated by Erin Li, Emo Gym is a group exhibition that delves deep into human vulnerabilities and explores the roller coaster of emotions that have arisen as a result of recent challenging circumstances.

In his first solo exhibition in Hong Kong, South African-based artist William Kentridge presents a range of work created over 50 years, in mediums including film, sculpture and painting. The expansive exhibition invites viewers to question the construction of meaning.
