David Beckham luxury suites? Inside The Londoner Macao: the new five-star hotel boasts rooms designed by the football legend, a Big Ben replica ... plus it’s a perfect for staycations from Hong Kong

- The Londoner Macao is the latest property from Sands Resort Macao, promising guests a swell time celebrating all things British, from queen’s guard sculptures to a Beatles and Spice Girls soundtrack
- The swanky hotel boasts the first celebrity-designed suites in Macau by David Beckham, while the classic afternoon tea at Churchill’s Table fills up fast thanks to its oh-so-Instagrammable dishes

The all-suite hotel is a fun and slightly over-the-top celebration of all things British, from its recreation of the Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament to the Union flag-painted London cabs greeting guests as they arrive in Macau. And not to mention the “Top of the Pops” hits blaring everywhere – think Elton John, Robbie Williams, The Beatles and the Spice Girls.

Fans of the athlete can also enjoy his favourite dishes, cigars, whiskeys and cocktails at some of the hotel’s eateries.

Among the hotel’s restaurants is Churchill’s Table, a casual and buzzy spot inspired by Winston Churchill, the late UK prime minister. It fills up fast though, especially its very popular classic afternoon tea, which provides plenty of photo ops thanks to its lavish and visually striking dishes.

Little touches such as a shoeshine service, British-themed gift shops and a number of sculptures peppered throughout the hotel – they include a bobby (Victorian-era policeman), a queen’s guard, Shakespeare, a beefeater and a bowler-hatted London gentleman – are constant reminders of Great Britain.
