Is it a sports car, or a tank? Check out the US$1 million ‘multipurpose hypercar’ even Batman would trade his Batmobile for

Only 12 prototypes will be made of the Ramsmobile RM-X2 – a bulletproof mix of luxury tank and racing car, described as ‘stronger than a military Humvee’
What: Ramsmobile RM-X2 “multipurpose hypercar”
How much: US$1 million
Why: The Ramsmobile RM-X2 turned heads at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. At its world debut, the RM-X2 was marketed as a “multipurpose hypercar”, but that title fails to do it justice. It is billed as offering racing car performance, EV (electric vehicle) technologies and “more brute strength and capabilities” than the military Humvee.
Available in four versions, the RM-X2 features an advanced carbon fibre monocoque chassis for either a four- or six-seater coupé. Three power train options are available: a 6.2-litre LT5 gas engine, a 6.6-litre Duramax diesel engine, or a fully electric option with an EV motor and batteries. The hypercar is said to achieve a 999 horsepower output (745 kilowatts) and reaches 62mph (100km/h) in 3.3 seconds. As an off-roader, the RM-X2 can also handle a vertical climb of up to 70 degrees and descend a 45-degree decline.
A laser sensor on the hydro-pneumatic suspension can be automatically adjusted for air suspension by as much as 76cm. No less impressive are the proprietary technologies for the vehicle’s exterior, including hydraulic and electronically-operated scissor doors, and unique ghost mirrors that can retract into the bonnet for tight fixes.
One of the four versions, the Devil’s Touch Edition, offers 20-inch to 24-inch wheels with gold rims and, as if that wasn’t slick enough, a deployable continuous track system. In other words, the RM-X2 becomes your own luxury tank. Pair this with ultralight bulletproof protection options, in modified polythene, titanium or Kevlar, and Batman will be trading in his Batmobile for this beast. Ramsmobile plans to produce no more than 12 of the RM-X2 Protosin 2020.
