Saint Laurent condoms and Hermès rubbish bins: 5 weird products rich people buy

Hermès waste baskets and Supreme voodoo dolls are among the expensive OTT items luxury brands pass off as being steeped in history or exquisitely handcrafted at artisanal studios
Designer goods are expensive, and often for good reason. Luxury brands tout clothes and accessories that are marketed as being steeped in history or exquisitely handcrafted at one of their quaint artisanal studios – all in the hopes of justifying the price tag. And that’s fine.
Then you have this list: five of the most over-the-top (OTT) products that luxury brands are actually selling.
It makes us wonder: are rich people running out of things to buy?
Saint Laurent condoms
The Saint Laurent condom, retailing for €2 (US$2.21), is “adorned” with the Saint Laurent signature.
The 100 per cent rubber prophylactic is exclusively sold at Saint Laurent Rive Droite in Paris.
Tiffany & Co. clothes peg (or clothespin)

If you’ve ever seen a rich person hang clothes (a rare sighting, we know), this sterling silver clothes peg might just be for them. Maybe the helper was out of town, maybe the dryer was broken, maybe their butler was sick and couldn’t deliver the dry-cleaning. Who knows what calamities must have ensued for a rich person to hang an article of clothing on a clothesline, but it should be celebrated.
Retailing for US$515, the clothes peg also features a Tiffany blue accent so guests know it isn’t just any old peg.
