Kylie Jenner rented it; 1MDB fugitive Jho Low owned it: inside the US$200 million superyacht Tranquility, now for sale
The 300-foot superyacht was seized by the Malaysian government after a money-laundering scheme and chartered by billionaire Kylie Jenner for her 22nd birthday
Tranquility, the 300-foot superyacht Kylie Jenner chartered for her 22nd birthday, is now for sale, with an asking price of US$200 million, yachting company Camper & Nicholsons told Business Insider.
Jenner originally rented the yacht in August; according to the charter listing, Tranquility rents for €1.1 million (or just over US$1.2 million) per week. Page Six reported in August the yacht was worth at least US$250 million.
Before its association with Jenner's luxurious birthday party, the yacht was involved in a massive 2018 money-laundering and fraud scandal in Malaysia involving fugitive businessman Low Taek Jho, known as Jho Low, in which it was seized and sold by the Malaysian government to recover funds.
Fast forwarding a year later, the yacht was making headlines again, but this time as the vessel that billionaire Jenner cruised on through the Mediterranean.

The Tranquility was built by the Oceanco shipyard in the Netherlands and set sail back in 2014. It was awarded Yacht of the Year Over 82 Metres at that year’s World Superyacht Awards.
The interior was designed by Andrew Winch, an internationally renowned English yacht designer.
The yacht features a number of over-the-top amenities, including a beach club, swimming pool, plunge pool, experiential showers and a spa with a sauna, a Turkish bath and a massage room.
