There are few journeys that capture the imagination quite like train travel in the 1920s. Belmond will celebrate the romance of the jazz era on its iconic Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. The two-day, one-night journey kicks off from Venice and ends in London. Guests will spend the night of March 27, 2020, in Venice at Belmond’s Hotel Cipriani on Giudecca. They will indulge in a retro speakeasy in the hotel to set the mood for the journey.

The train will then start its 48-hour trek through the Alps from Santa Lucia station. While aboard, travellers will enjoy parties, dinners and jazz-influenced entertainment recalling the train’s legendary history, while sipping champagne and dressed as flappers and in spats.

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express comprises 17 original 1920s carriages, each with a unique history, including three new Grand Suites – the Budapest, the Prague and the Vienna – designed to reflect the essence of each city.
