How Dior, Prada, Saint Laurent, Alexander McQueen and other luxury brands are bringing 60s fashion back

The swinging 60s started both a fashion and cultural revolution where women donned miniskirts and thigh-high boots, and luxury brands such as Dior, Prada and more are bringing these looks back to 2020
From mini dresses to checked suits, the 60s left a youthful and influential mark on fashion’s history.
Sparked by London’s mod fashion movement, it was in the swinging British capital that models, photographers and artists pushed the adolescent spirit to a global scale. The decade is often referenced by today’s fashion designers, from Prada to Miu Miu to Paco Rabanne.
And the era’s beauty style is more recognisable than any other decade, influenced by trendsetting looks such as Jean Shrimpton’s voluminous blowout, Jane Fonda’s sideswipe curls and Twiggy’s signature pixie haircut and elongated eyelashes.
Here, photographer Mauro Lorenzo invited models to an Italian salon for a 60s makeover.
