Net-a-Porter and Balmain are making monochrome cool and contemporary, again – this is how

16 styles of capes, crop tops, leggings and shoes in striking black and white offer a modern take on classic French pied-de-poule
Parisian fashion house Balmain is launching a limited capsule collection with luxury e-commerce platform Net-a-Porter. The collection features ready-to-wear designs and footwear in chic monochrome that is “anything but monotonous”. The 16 styles of capes, crop tops, leggings and shoes in striking black and white offer a modern take on classic French pied-de-poule (houndstooth).

Designed by Balmain’s creative director, Olivier Rousteing, the line features unique patterns, graphic lines, oversized motifs and amplified silhouettes.
“I’m so pleased to once again team up with Net-a-Porter on a special, limited-edition Balmain capsule collection. Net-a-Porter has been a friend and supporter and their loyalty and encouragement has meant a great deal to me. I loved working with the Net-a-Porter team on our first collaboration – and I’m certain that this new effort will be more successful,” says Rousteing.

Net-a-Porter’s global buying director, Elizabeth von der Goltz, says, “Legacy is brought to life by his contemporary take on the classic houndstooth and the exquisite use of striking monochromatic patterns”.
