The global hospitality industry is in turmoil as it tries to deal with recommendations for people to avoid cruises or non-essential travel.

Hong Kong is no exception, and it has stepped up restrictions including quarantine for all inbound travellers, which further reduces the numbers of business and leisure travellers from overseas.

In the face of this challenge, hotels in Hong Kong are offering a host of attractive packages – from immunity boost to wellness programmes – to support local businesses. Details of the health precautions being taken are available on each hotel’s website.

1. W Hong Kong

The W Hong Kong in West Kowloon combines fresh air and sunshine in its lavish Amp up your stay package. It features a room upgrade (to Fabulous), breakfast, a W Recharge Pack – which includes masks and hand sanitiser – an in-room popcorn-accompanied movie set-up and hotel dining credits. Guests get to indulge in a succulent W grab-and-go basket set for two (with wine), either in-room or on a private trip to an Instagramable location with stunning Victoria Harbour views. Stay indoors but be entertained with plenty of savoury food and drinks.

3. The Mandarin Oriental

Not to be outdone by its younger sister, the original Mandarin Oriental is gearing up for an Easter Weekend gourmands will never forget. Aside from classic, Statue Square-view MO accommodation, The Easter Getaway includes breakfast at the Clipper Lounge or Café Causette, special Easter amenities and discounted spa treatments. While you’re there, drop into the Mandarin Grill + Bar for its signature Sunday Roast, with an option of free-flow Ruinart or Krug, or Easter Brunch at the Clipper. Easter sweets can be found at The Mandarin Cake Shop.

4. The Murray

Every architecture buff’s preferred hotel, The Murray has opted for a range of food and beverage combinations to help get away from it all. Niccolo Nights returns to Popinjays with a four-course menu accompanied by an art performance by muralist Oriol Piquet of Axe Colours HK. Elsewhere “Hide and Seek” Afternoon Tea in the Garden Lounge presents an exclusive preview of 112 mountainyam’s autumn-winter 2020/21 collection, featuring local designer Mountain Yam. The hotel has also created a four-course dinner at The Tai Pan or the Cloudy Bay Wine Dinner in the Garden Lounge.

6. The Upper House

Whether it’s a weekend or just a day to leave the world behind, The Upper House has a solution until December 31.
