Which Asprey pieces does Kate Middleton own? The high jeweller was granted a Royal Warrant by Prince Charles, and its gems have sparkled on Queen Elizabeth, Princess Diana and Meghan Markle
She did, however, treat herself to a £17,300 (US$23,420) pair of earrings from British jeweller Asprey.
During a visit to Ireland in March 2020, she donned earrings from Asprey that had recently landed in her jewellery box. The pair of earrings is from the brand’s Daisy Heritage collection and are one of a few pieces she owns from the 240-year old house.
Why has 2020 been another bad year for the ‘sad princess’?
Having a two-century-plus history means the jeweller has created plenty of pieces for the royal family over the years. Asprey holds a Royal Warrant from the Prince of Wales and, along with jewellery, is the maker of fine silverware and home goods. It also sells leather goods and fragrances; some of these items, such as the 1781 Pochette, have found their way to the royal family too.
These earrings Kate recently acquired are a part of the Daisy Heritage collection that includes rings and necklaces crafted in white gold and accented with white diamonds or aquamarines. Kate’s version of the earrings are paved entirely in white diamonds.
How British royals escape the palace – and what they do in disguise
The duchess was seen pairing the £17,300 earrings with a green floral dress – an apt choice for her visit to Ireland.
This is not Kate’s first pair of nature-inspired earrings from the jeweller, either; Asprey’s Oak Leaf earrings are also a favourite of hers. The house’s 167 Button pendant necklace is another contemporary design she often wears on more casual outings.
Queen Elizabeth herself owns Asprey pieces, including a beautiful sapphire and diamond suite made in the 1970s. The necklace and earring set was commissioned by the ruler of Dubai, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and presented to the queen in 1979 on his visit to the Buckingham Palace.

In 2012, Asprey and artist Chris Levine created a bejewelled portrait of the queen titled Equanimity that was exhibited at Masterpiece London. Asprey used 1,000 white diamonds in the portrait to recreate the sparkle of the George IV state diadem the queen wore during the procession of her coronation in 1953.

If these designs don’t ring a bell, there’s yet another iconic piece of jewellery that, albeit without any royal connection, is instantly recognisable for almost anyone. In 1997, Asprey was commissioned to create the heart-shaped sapphire and diamond “The Heart of the Ocean” necklace for the set of Hollywood blockbuster Titanic. The jeweller later created a replica of the design for charity.
