STYLE Edit: Loewe Paula’s Ibiza 2021 summer collection – the Spanish brand’s annual collaboration draws inspiration from the Mediterranean island boutique’s bohemian beach vibe

- The island boutique was founded by Armin Heinemann and Stuart Rudnick in Ibiza, where Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson holidayed while growing up
- The craft-led collection features Anagram baskets in iraca palm and Square baskets, woven in Colombia by female artisans from the Corporación Oficio y Arte NGO
Since 2017, Loewe has collaborated with Paula’s Ibiza – the sun-kissed Mediterranean island’s legendary fashion store – in launching a trendy, bohemian summer collection, branded as Loewe Paula’s Ibiza.
With this summer’s 2021 Loewe Paula’s Ibiza collection, the Spanish fashion house’s creative director Jonathan Anderson – who holidayed in Ibiza while growing up – has reminded us that summer is about getting energised, being worry-free and escaping to paradise.

For the 2021 creations, Loewe Paula’s Ibiza gives us uncomplicated, relaxed pieces of clothing and accessories that encourage us to live it up and let loose. Crochet, faded treatments, loose ruffles and textured kaftans add to the bohemian spirit, while new shapes, like a deconstructed blazer for men, or dresses and tops mixed with trousers for women, offer an alternate idea of how to dress for beach days ahead.
Importantly, mixing and matching is A-OK in Anderson’s book, whether that means adding an ecru skirt to a bright crochet watermelon-print bikini top, or coordinating dove-print belted trousers with a dove-print kaftan that hits just past the knees. Make it playful with canvas fisherman hats, goggle sunglasses, suede moccasin boots or an array of bags in woven natural fibres.

And of course, Loewe Paula’s Ibiza pays homage to the spirit of Paula’s boutique, an international style hub that especially flourished in the 70s and 80s.
