The most luxurious hotel openings from around the world: Cheval Blanc Paris, The Londoner and Bali’s new Banyan Tree

- Two of Europe’s hottest hotel launches of the year are surely the Cheval Blanc Paris, in La Samaritaine, and The Londoner, landing in the UK capital
- Over in Asia, Bali’s new zero-waste Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape is ideal for those looking for an immersive, socially distanced pandemic escape
Summer getaways are one of the most highly anticipated experiences of the year – and that’s one fact that applies all over the world. While we’re still being restricted by the pandemic, there are still plenty of new luxury hotels throwing open their doors to meet our restless wanderlust. And these are three of the best.
In Asia, Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape, is all set to launch before the end of the year, while over in Europe, this summer will see the opening of the luxury Cheval Blanc Paris and The Londoner are ready for launch soon.
Banyan Tree Bali welcomes open-minded luxury consumers

A resort without walls or doors might sound like one that’s been hit by a typhoon, but apparently it’s also something people are prepared to pay a lot of money for. Such, anyway, is the concept behind Buahan, the new Banyan Tree Escape resort which will open in Bali on December 1.
Located in a quiet area of northern Ubud, the property goes out of its way to immerse guests in nature: its 16 villas, known as bales, are separated from their surroundings – whether rice paddies, jungles, a river or waterfall – by only a thin sliver of material. The lack of walls extends to the open lounge and dining areas, living room and the open kitchen, which offers a zero-waste, locally sourced menu that is 70 per cent plant based.
Both the resort’s Toja Spa and its line-up of events reference and honour local culture and traditions.
