Before Covid-19, many airlines were starting to develop and open more luxury lounges in an effort to attract deep-pocket customers.

United Airlines, in particular, unveiled its Polaris product in 2016, which included a new and improved premium cabin offering and a network of luxury airport lounges.
Now, as transatlantic demand is expected to skyrocket in 2022, United is hoping to fill its lounges again, especially to countries with relaxed Covid-19 restrictions.

The US$41 million facility, which is located near gate C18, was the first Polaris location to open since the pandemic, though the other five have since reopened as well.
