4 OTT trunks to jazz up your home with, from Louis Vuitton’s luxurious Vanity Mahjong to Goyard and Giuseppe Rivadossi’s pieces, to Royal Trunk & Co.’s massively customisable bespoke Emerald
1. Royal Trunk & Co. Emerald trunk
Founded by friends Mattia Scattarelli and Guido Boem in Brescia, northern Italy, Royal Trunk & Co. is a luxury brand specialising in contemporary takes on the traditional form, and other luxury bespoke items. Pieces are all handcrafted and inherently customisable, resulting in production times ranging between 450 and 1,000 hours. Known for co-branded pieces created with luxury brands including Chopard and Bentley, the pair set about breathing new life into an industry that is something of an anachronism, transforming trunks into interior centrepieces and statement furniture items for the home.
It’s hard to put a price on the Emerald trunk. Each piece is made to order and is completely customisable. Every inch – it measures an impressive 1.75 metres tall without its stand, and 0.84 metres wide – can be tailored to suit your preferences.
Additional features can include a Bang & Olufsen wireless speaker system, two high-precision cigar humidors, and a bar set that features a double-lever corkscrew, champagne opener and stopper, lemon zester, bar knife, strainer, jigger and more. The set is then housed in a case finished with either springbok or zebu hide.
Whether you’re looking to fill your trunk with state-of-the-art features or opting for a minimalist classic trim and finish, this timeless piece can be tailored to suit every taste. Price upon request.
