Style shoot: Chanel’s Reach for the Stars high jewellery collection

The French maison’s high jewellery collection, launched in Kyoto, reaches back in time to mine codes dear to Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel
In June, Chanel chose Kyoto, Japan’s ancient capital, to present its new Reach for the Stars high jewellery collection.
There, the brand unveiled pieces that not only paid homage to the shimmering celestial bodies long synonymous with the house’s jewellery, but also nodded to the maison’s iconic founder.
In 1932, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel chose heavenly motifs for her only high jewellery collection, presented in Paris. It has gone down as one of her most remarkable achievements, setting a benchmark that the brand proudly references to this day.
